John Muir - let's get going!

P5 and P2 are going to be exploring Craigmillar Castle Park this term. P5 are hoping to achieve the John Muir Discovery Award through this exploration.

So far we have been learning about who John Muir was and what he stood for. We created books or posters using the Book Creator App and Pic Collage App on the iPads. He really was an inspirational person who loved and cared for the outdoors, especially wild places, making sure that they were protected.

As we are walking to the park we have used Google Maps to plan a safe route to walk to the park from school. P5 will be walking with P2 so it is really important that we take a safe route and go carefully.

Please continue to check in to our blog to see what we have been up to to achieve our Discovery Award. We have to discover a wild place and then explore it, before helping to conserve it and finally make sure we share with others what we are doing and the benefit of doing it. It should be lots of fun!

  1. Wow - very impressive work Primary 5! I remember studying John Muir when I was at school - makes you proud to be Scottish!

Looking forward to seeing all your future additions to your project.
